Position Description

Machinery Systems, Inc., a 41-year Mazak distributor, is seeking a Regional Coolant & Industrial Lubricant Sales & Product Specialist.  Working from our Schaumburg, Illinois Technical Center, this Specialist will be responsible for generating new orders for coolant, industrial lubricants and accessories related to improving Machine Tool performance at existing and potential customers.

The Specialist will work closely with our Sales, Engineering and Used Equipment Groups throughout MSI’s Illinois and Wisconsin/UP Michigan markets to achieve the monthly sales expectations established by the company. Our Specialist will seek opportunities to present products and provide application specific features and benefits.  Coordinating product inventory levels, orders, sales inquiries, expediting shipments, and working with marketing to promote products are some of the daily responsibilities of the Specialist.

Position Description

Machinery Systems, Inc., a leading Midwest CNC machine tool distributor with a 30 year history of representing Mazak, the world’s largest machine tool builder, is seeking a CNC installation technician to join our expanding business. The installation technician will travel to customer locations throughout Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan.

The installation technician’s primary responsibilities will be to install and train customers on the use of Mazak CNC machine tools and the Mazatrol programming language. In addition, the technician will perform minor non-warranty electrical and mechanical diagnosis and repair of Mazak machine tools. The technician may be asked to perform preventative maintenance services at customer locations. The technician may be asked to demonstrate the capabilities of Mazak’s equipment to customers in our showroom and at various trade shows.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of set-up, programming and machining experience on both CNC turning centers and vertical machining centers. Mazatrol programming experience is a plus.
  • Aptitude or ability to work with 3 phase wiring, 100V AC/ 24V DC circuits and machine leveling tools is ideal
  • Knowledge of cutting tool and work holding applications
  • Must be a self starter and be highly motivated
  • Must possess strong customer service orientation, be flexible to adjust to customer demands and have effective communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Appropriate safety wear for in-house and customer shop environments
  • Ability to provide own tools is a plus
  • Unrestricted drivers license

Position Description

The Level 1 Sales Representative position is a great place to start your career at Machinery Systems.  The intention of this position is to provide a training ground for reps starting in the sales position in the machine tool industry.  Working from our Brookfield, Wisconsin Technical Center, the Level 1 rep will be responsible for a smaller geographic territory that consists of both existing and potential customers. With assistance from the sales manager and the team’s senior representatives, the Level 1 rep will experience every aspect of the partnership between Machinery Systems, our vendors, and our customers. The Level 1 representative will learn our products, markets, industry and the Machinery Systems sales process and skills.  The Level 1 rep will be a direct point of contact for those customers in their assigned geographic territory, assisting in product and application inquiries, expediting the sales process and following through on customer requests. Unlike entry sales positions at other companies, the MSI Level 1 Sales Representative will have the opportunity to develop opportunities at their own accounts, benefiting directly from their success at accounts within their assigned geographic territory.

Sales Responsibilities

  • Customer and prospect profile maintenance, including use of in-house CRM
  • Prepare proposals and consult on solutions
  • Customer service and account development
  • Participation in marketing programs and events
  • Throughout the qualification process, the Level 1 Sales Representative will learn to identify the specific needs of clients, departments and entire organizations and how Machinery Systems’ solutions meet those needs
  • Report to management on customer relationships, pipeline, forecasts and new prospects
  • Develop relationships with customer(s) through the use of database, phone calls, personal activities, events and various other methods
  • Working with assistance from Sales Manager, close orders and execute customer follow-up through machine installation

General Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Answer phones
  • General report updates in Excel, Word and other popular software
  • Order entry and paperwork management
  • Data entry in our accounting, CRM software (Salesforce), Excel spreadsheets and other
  • Typing letters, memos, and miscellaneous correspondence
